Cubs' Wilson Contreras suspended two games for his actions Friday night

Chicago Cubs catcher Willson Contreras has been suspended two games by Major League Baseball for his actions during Friday's win over the St. Louis Cardinals. After Contreras was tossed, He threw down his mask in disgust, and the mask bounced and made contact with umpire Jordan Baker.

Lackey began screaming at the umpire and was ejected from the game.

Lackey was fined for his role in the incident, and Contreras was remorseful when he spoke about it after the contest. The two-game suspension was set to start this afternoon but Contreras has chose to appeal MLB's decision. The catcher has tallied 21 home runs and 73 RBI so far this season. Lackey then sprinted to home plate and screamed in Baker's face, getting the ejection. Maddon is hoping Contreras' postgame comments will be a factor in possibly reducing the suspension. "He is emotional. We are all working on having him curb that a bit".

Two series later, Clemson was in trouble after Ray-Ray McCloud's fumble left Auburn set up just 10 yards from a touchdown. If that happens, Clemson might have to make Venables the first $2 million assistant coach in college football history.

"It's a pretty big spot right there", he said. "Those don't grow on trees". "If they're going to do something, I'll take it like a man". "I mean, honestly. Willson's in his early 20s, Johnny's nearly 40".

The Cubs activated shortstop Addison Russell before the game, but the 23-year-old wasn't in the starting lineup. We will now have to wait and see if it will get reduced or upheld.
