Arsene Wenger admits talks over Mesut Ozil's Arsenal deal have 'slowed down'

The Germany worldwide Rudiger has played less than 5 Premier League games and made a number of mistakes on his Premier League debut for Chelsea against Burnley in a 3-2 defeat for the Blues. In four season at the North London club, he has played an instrumental role in their fortunes.

However, it is not immediately clear where Ozil would fit in Mourinho's current attack at Old Trafford, especially as the German has endured mixed fortunes in the Premier League since moving to Arsenal in 2013.

Arsenal have had two days fewer to prepare for the game than Chelsea, who brushed aside Qarabag in the Champions League on Tuesday, while the Gunners beat Cologne 3-1 in the Europa League on Thursday.

Wenger is unsure if the Alexis Sanchez will start at Chelsea despite being confident that three days is sufficient for the players to recover.

Mesut Ozil has a number of critics - the criticism made easy by his laid-back approach to what the English still view as a blood-and-thunder game - but the sheer numbers he racks up are hard to argue against. Coquelin is out for three weeks. "But he will be of course with us at Chelsea", Wenger added about Sanchez".

"I have to see how he [Sanchez] recovers from [facing Cologne] and decide afterwards with all the players available".

"For me, in training, he is getting stronger every day".

In the last campaign, however, Ozil endured a dip in form for major parts of the first half of the season before a late surge in performance saw him end the campaign with 12 goals and 14 assists in 44 appearances across all competitions. "I don't give the team out today, I will give it out on Thursday". "Unfortunately it comes quicker and quicker".
