'Great British Bake Off' judge Paul Hollywood under fire for Nazi costume

12 September 2017

While he's observably in a bar, standing next to another costumed guy in military gear, the photo made the internet wonder: Is there ever an appropriate time to dress up like a Nazi?

Unfortunately, it looks like judge Paul Hollywood has found himself in the centre of yet more controversy after photos of him dressed up as a Nazi emerged over the weekend. Hollywood has since explained that it was a themed New Year's Eve party in 2003, and he was dressed not as an actual Nazi, but as General Von Klinkerhoffen, a Nazi character on the BBC comedy series 'Allo 'Allo. Making light of the Nazi regime, whatever the context or the occasion, should never be OK.

He also shared a picture of himself in Nazi uniform besides Oscar victor Kate Winslet dressed as a nun for their infamous The Extras sketch and wrote: 'The New Celebrity Great British Bake Off looks promising'. Smoking & drinking in uniform is disgraceful'.

Clearly attempting to see the amusing side to things, Ricky also then went on to make a serious note on the "big threat" Nazi's now pose - and not Paul, who is originally from Cheshire. Some poor old scouse baker in fancy dress isn't a big threat'.

As well as the red armband, Hollywood's outfit included an Iron Cross medal and a badge featuring a Nazi eagle.

Falcons keep defeat at arm's length thanks to Hooper
Cohen averaged 13.2 yards per run, 5.9 yards per catch and made himself a featured part of the Bears' offense in the process. But, Hooper wanted to leave the scene of his best game as a Falcon with this thought: "There's a lot I got to work on.

"Paul and his mate popped in for a drink and their wives joined them later", a source told the publication.

The controversial snaps were taken a few years before he joined GBBO in 2010, where he cemented his career as a celebrity chef.

"But some found it offensive - especially the fact they thought it was really amusing".

Hollywood, who stars on "The Great British Bake Off" on Channel 4 in the United Kingdom, had reportedly worn the costume to a New Year's Eve costume party he attended with his wife and friends.
