Mauricio Pochettino says he is sure Tottenham summer signings will come

13 August 2017

The same can be said for Danny Rose, who revealed in an interview with The Sun that he'd be open to leaving Spurs if the right offer came in to attract a salary he perceives reflects his ability.

Sportsmail columnist and ex-England global Jamie Redknapp has claimed Tottenham can be strong title challengers this season despite having yet to make new recruitments.

Pochettino said: 'If you see the last five years, Tottenham always spend money and sign players at the end of the transfer window.

"For me it's not a big issue, it's time to move on".

That need for more strength in depth now seems rather more urgent as Tottenham start the season without several key players and now in Rose a key one who wants out. We are working hard to deliver that and ensure that by the end we add a few players, maybe three or four. I don't know exactly when but I will get back up north and play some football somewhere.

Newcastle striker Dwight Gayle averaged a goal every 93 minutes in the Championship last season, scoring 23 goals; he also scored in his last top-flight appearance against Spurs for Crystal Palace in January 2015.

Pochettino said he had not spoken to Rose personally and was happy to "forgive" the England global for breaking ranks to speak out in an interview with the Sun.

The study, from the Kaiser Family Foundation , looked at plans offered in 20 different states and in Washington D.C. The mandate requires almost all Americans to get coverage or pay a penalty.

Rose also suggested he does not earn his full worth under Tottenham's wage structure and questioned the depth of quality in Pochettino's squad - remarks he apologised for on Friday.

"When I first arrived here, people wanted to know who Mauricio Pochettino was too", he said.

"He's not going to play Harry Winks with Josh Onomah, I know he's just gone to Aston Villa, but obviously when Josh played in midfield at the [Under-20] World cup he showed ability, but [Pochettino] was never going to go and do that". He is our player and he needs to be focused on trying to be fit as soon as possible.

That bad run has many fans shuddering with fear ahead of the new campaign, and manager Pochettino has conceded the move could present the team with their biggest test this term. Matic, in particular, was an odd sale for me and really surprising that they sold him to a close rival.

'It's hard for me to judge every opinion. We are helping him with all the tools to be ready again.

"Obviously it puts a lot of pressure on the youngsters to perform, but I do think he's got a group of players around them that can protect them".
