Sebastian Gorka Just Increased The Chances of Nuclear War

12 August 2017

GORKA: Absolutely, absolutely. No, I never said that, I said for reporters to force our chief diplomat, the awesome Rex Tillerson to give details of military options is nonsensical.

Later, in an interview on Fox News Channel, Gorka said he was misinterpreted.

CLAMAN: So you're denying that you said it's inappropriate, perhaps, for Rex Tillerson to have told the American people to calm down? During brief remarks to reporters on Tuesday, the president threatened nuclear strikes against the regime of Kim Jong-un if it issues threats against the United States, saying the military will retaliate with "fire and fury like the world has never seen".

Trump administration officials haven't been on the same page about North Korea.

"North Korea has said they wish to annihilate the United States and use nuclear weapons".

Tillerson has said negotiations with the North Korean government could happen as long as Pyongyang temporarily stops its missile tests. They're only doing it - but I will tell you, we have tens of millions of people in this country that are so happy with what I'm saying - because they're saying, finally we have a President that's sticking up for our nation and, frankly, sticking up for our friends and our allies. What do you think about these latest comments from Gorka?

During the radio interview, Gorka also pushed back on more levelheaded comments by Secretary of State Rex Tillerson that Americans should "sleep well at night" and "have no concerns" over the the threat of attacks from North Korea.

State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert condemned the rogue state's "provocative" missile tests during a press briefing. "He's the fourth in line to the presidency".

"I said for reporters to force our chief diplomat, the wonderful Rex Tillerson, to give details of military options is nonsensical", Gorka said. "He carries a big stick".

Asked if Tillerson would reject the assertion that he shouldn't speak on military tensions surrounding North Korea, Nauert said, "our Secretary has been very clear, as has Secretary Mattis, that our diplomatic and military means are both strong and capable and in the face of the threats that we face against the DPRK or other nations".
