23 July 2017

Marvel's The Defenders premieres globally on Netflix on August 18, 2017 at 12:01am PT.

In addition to the new trailer, Marvel has also officially announced that Iron Fist-the show that's joining forces with fellow Netflix series Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage for The Defenders-is getting a season two.

The cast of Marvel's new project took to the stage at Comic-Con in San Diego on Friday evening (21Jul17) to showcase the first episode of the highly anticipated series.

US, China should handle their own affairs: Mehbooba Mufti on Kashmir issue
Whatever being said to Pakistan and China is not needed, instead there should be discussions on Kashmir. He also attacked the Narendra Modi-led Central government and said its policies have "burnt Kashmir".

Marvel Head of Television Jeph Loeb made the announcement this evening during the Defenders panel at Comic-Con International, where he teased, the inclusion of another character that "will make you a little misty". "Because even though they're heroes they're still human".

Marvel's The Defenders stars Charlie Cox, (Matt Murdock/Daredevil), Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), Mike Colter (Luke Cage) and Finn Jones (Danny Rand/Iron Fist).

During The Defenders panel, Marvel dropped the new footage, which features Sigourney Weaver's Alexandra as she educates Elektra about her plans to take control of NY for herself while severing Elektra's emotional ties to her previous life. That being said, they are interlaced with dialogue from the great Stan Lee and cap off with our first look at The Punisher. Metzner was previously an exec producer for Fox's "Sleepy Hollow" and will replace Scott Buck, who lead "Iron Fist" in its first season.

It's not often someone has the upper hand with Madame Gao, but in this latest clip from the show (see above), Alexandra puts her firmly in her place. This is all the more likely since the trailer shows that beloved characters like Karen and Foggy from Daredevil and Trish from Jessica Jones will also be making appearances.
