While the cast teased each other's roles in season 3, the show's executive producer revealed that although he won't give anything away, fans should definitely tune in.
It is less than two months until Outlander returns for its third season, but yesterday (July 21, 2017) fans at the Comic-Con panel for the Starz hit were rewarded with a surprise screening of the season opener.
Unlike Season 2, the 13-episode third season of Outlander will not see an episode written by Gabaldon, Moore revealed earlier today in an interview with Deadline.
Eventually, the scenes catch up to the Amazon Prime series' second season finale, when Claire discovered the Scot was still alive following the brutal battle, having managed to escape certain death at the hands of the British.
The cast, including fan favourites Caitrona Balfe (Claire) and Sam Heughan (Jamie), appeared anxious when Tatum, who was moderating their panel, suggested playing the game, which she came up with during a flight. The episode went on to show how Jamie, Claire (Caitriona Balfe), and Frank (also played by Menzies) coped with their new lives in the past and present, as reported by Variety. "Season 3 you're going to see a lot of different things".
"This season we really got to stretch the characters and making more about their experiences rather than the aging", said Heughan. All she can think about is Jamie while trying to figure out a way to transport herself back to 1743 Scotland. That kind of sexual, romantic side of herself has been shelved nearly for 20 years.
Van Niekerk: I'm just doing me
It was his last outing before next month's world championships in London where he will race in the 100 metres and 4x100m relay. Bolt ran 9.95, the joint seventh fastest time in the world this season.
Tobias Menzies couldn't say much about the highly anticipated scene, but he did promise we'd get to see both characters meet on the fated battle field.
Moore said this was a "pivotal" season, as Claire will be raising her daughter Brianna with Frank even though she loves Jamie.
Hueghan is excited for this moment as well.
The season picks up with Claire pregnant with Sam's child after travelling through the stones to return to 1948. It's always hard when we're apart, actually, because she's a great person, great to come to work with, and a very good actress. She said, "I don't think you're going to feel that it's long". It should be very special.
Following the dance off, fans were treated to an exclusive sneak preview of the season premiere, titled "The Battle Joined" and airing on Starz on September 10.
