What's more, even though it costs more than the PlayStation 4 Pro, you get something for your extra dollars, because the Xbox One X is technically more powerful than Sony's rival. We won't know for certain how well it compares with the Sony's machine until November, when the Xbox One X will be released.

Last Monday, Xbox marketing chief Mike Nichols stated that the Xbox One X won't be supporting VR. The console also supports 4K games, which is now at the top edge of video game technology.

Phil Spencer, Head of Xbox for Microsoft, sat down with Eurogamer at the Galen Center in Los Angeles to discuss the reveal. If you just look at the specifications of what this box is, it's in a different league than any other console that's out there.

When asked about whether or not Microsoft is concerned about the Xbox One X coming in at a price $100 higher than that of the PS4 Pro, he took a somewhat predictable angle. "The money-making part is in selling games". Microsoft couldn't call it Xbox One Elite because it already has a version of the original Xbox One with that branding, and the Xbox One S is the existing console so it couldn't use "S" alone.

"There are many people that come in and just want an affordable console that plays all of the games that we've shown here, plays them with great HDR support".

When it comes to the central processing unit (CPU), the PlayStation 4 has a slight lag compared to the Xbox One X as well. Among the titles the company presented we could find Crackdown 3, Assassin's Creed: Origins, Cuphead, Forza Motorsport 7, Middle Earth: Shadow of War, Playerunknown's Battlegrounds, Life Is Strange: Before the Storm etc.
