First Lady Melania and Barron Trump move into White House

12 June 2017

Trump and Melania's son Barron become the first boy to live in the White House after three-year-old John F. Kennedy Jr.in 1963.

Trump is returning to Washington, DC after spending the weekend at this Bedminster, New Jersey golf club.

The First Lady also tweeted on Sunday night: "Looking forward to the memories we'll make in our new home!"

The first lady and the president held hands as they walked from Marine One to the White House on Sunday.

During the week at least, Mr Trump has been living alone in the vast, private quarters of the White House as he fends off the flood of reporting over Russian Federation having allegedly meddled in the 2016 United States election with the aim of helping him defeat Mrs Hillary Clinton. Trump celebrates his 71st birthday on Wednesday and got his gift a few days early.

CNN reported a while back that Barron will be starting the new school year in a school that has already been found for him in Washington District.

Her spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham, confirmed the move by email and on Twitter. He is expected to attend St. Andrews Episcopal school, just outside Washington, in the 2017-2018 session.

Melania Trump stayed largely out of sight during her husband's presidential campaign and was an absent first lady at the outset of the administration, staying in NY and focusing on Barron. Since then, Melania has been kept mostly out of the public eye, only making appearances along side her husband from time to time.

"My husband is traveling all the time", Melania said after the election in November, when she first announced she would remain in NY.

Michelle Obama was very active politically on issues such as education and women's empowerment during her husband's two terms in office.

Melania is the first First Lady in modern history to delay her arrival in Washington after an election win. In the case of President Trump, many will be anxious to see whether Mrs. Trump's daily presence will have a positive influence on Trump's behavior and mood, including his often angry tweet storms.

"She is embracing the ceremonial aspects of the role, but we have not seen any advocacy", Myra Gutin, a professor of communication at Rider University and author who has studied first ladies, told The Washington Post in April.
